Shighar fort skardu Skardu is a beautiful city located in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. There are several forts in the Skardu region, but I believe the one you are referring to is the Shigar Fort. Shigar Fort, also known as Fong-Khar, is a 17th-century fort located in the town of Shigar, which is about 23 kilometers away from Skardu city. The fort was restored and converted into a heritage hotel in the 1990s. It is now a popular tourist attraction in the area, offering visitors a glimpse into the region's rich cultural and historical heritage The fort is a fine example of Balti architecture, featuring intricate wood carvings, mud-plastered walls, and wooden balconies.
